Welcome to Beth’s Cabinet

The First Poem

Beautiful words, written and typed, for the members of Beth’s Cabinet.

Wisdom from a Honeylocust is the forthcoming collected poetry written by Elizabeth Ann Oswalt (1969–2020), and edited by her sister Amy.
Beth left behind a cabinet full of items including 20 plus handwritten journals filled with poems, visions, love letters to trees, and conversations with things no one else could see.

  • A hand-typed poem: Beth’s words, typed/edited one key at a time by Amy – completely original and only human generated
  • A scan of the original journal page: her handwriting, exactly as she wrote it
  • An artifact: a small object connected to the poem

Keep it for yourself, or give it away. Each month you receive something worth holding and also something worth passing along to someone else. Build your own collection, or become the person who gives the strange and beautiful gift no one else would think to give.

Beth wrote by hand. Her words are always and only human, strange, unpredictable, alive.

These poems will never be generated. They can only be transmitted. And members of Beth’s Cabinet will have the book before it is even printed.

Hand to hand to hand. Beth’s pen, Amy’s keys, your mailbox.
